What is Sound Healing?
A sound bath is a gentle, yet powerful, experience for the mind and body. The sounds are created by a variety of instruments, including rain sticks, tuning forks, gongs, shruti box, Himalayan and crystal singing bowls, chimes, and voice. The aim is to invite deep rest and relaxation, and explore self-inquiry. Traditionally you are invited to lay on a mat, with as many bolsters, pillows, and blankets needed to assist the body in relaxation.
The sound healer typically burns sage, palo santo, or incense to cleanse and purify the air and the space.
What will I feel afterward?
Everyone's experience will be different, but the general feedback is typically feeling light, free, and peaceful. This is a powerful form of meditation and you will notice your mind at times filtering through all the thoughts and worries you have. Then at times, the sounds will replace them and you'll feel calm, still, and peaceful which may carry on for days after. You'll go home with wanting to add this into your monthly routine!
